Woolpops "Navajo Churro" Natural color roving. This listing is for 2.0 ounces of Navajo Churro wool roving. Navajo Churro is the oldest North American sheep breed. This wool was grown domestically in the US by a farmer in Utah. The contributing sheep's name is Butch Cassidy. This wool is a nice variable light gray color.

According to The Fleece and Fiber Source Books (p. 282-285) Navajo Churro wool is highly variable, in color and texture. While double coated, it often seems to be single coated, "it can feel soft and fine but has a well-earned reputation for durability... and it seems to have an inner gleaming quality." The staple length is highly variable, from as little as 3 inches in the undercoat to as many as 14 in the outercoat, although it often falls in the range of 4-6 inches overall. Navajo Churro wool is best suited to use where it's durability and luster can take center stage, such as outerwear and household textiles.
